The season includes Misplaced on the Moon, a touring show, Luminous Luna: Myth and Imagination, our 23rd original musical, and a yet untitled piece about Hans Christian Anderson.
Luminous Luna: Myth and Imagination, our 23rd summer musical, written by Luke Dennis, directed by Ara G. Beal and Melissa Heston, will explore the human fascination with the moon through the retelling of myth and scientific discovery. Performances are June 22-July 2, 2017 on Antioch’s campus.
Our second summer project, Misplaced on the Moon, will tour area libraries and day camps. Designed for younger audiences, this short play tells the story of two kids who lose their toy and decide, with the ‘help’ of an adult, that it’s landed on the moon. They then work through different ways of making their way skyward to retrieve it.
Performances of Misplaced on the Moon are
June 14 10:30 AM in the Enon Community Library
June 14 1 PM Yellow Springs Community Library
June 20 12:30 PM at Peace Lutheran Church for the Beavercreek Community Library
In the fall, we’ll present a yet untitled piece that intertwines the biography of Hans Christian Anderson and some of his stories. Presented in conjunction with Mills Lawn Elementary, we look forward to wrapping up our season with tales from such an influential story teller.
